Bogotá’s Institute for Tourism and hundred tourism organizations will sign a covenant against the sexual exploitation of minors Tuesday.
The organizations will collaborate with authorities, NGOs and international agencies to battle the problem of child prostitution in the Colombian capital.
The ceremony will be attended by representatives of Colombia’s Ministry of Tourism, family welfare organization Renacer and the Unicef representative for Colombia Paul Martin, who has been appointed as observer of the process following the pact.
The organizations promise to increase measures to prevent and control sexual abuse of minors. One of the first initiatives coming from the pact is an educational campaign about child exploitation.
