Bogota’s coroner’s office found out one of its psychiatrists was a fraud after having him on staff for ten years.
The fake psychiatrist apparently had falsified his diplomas when applying for the job back in 2002. Apparently, none of his superiors or colleagues reported the scam until recently.
“After receiving complaints from psychiatrists we revised the documents and we found out there were serious gaps and when corroborating with education entities we found out out the documents were false,” the director of the coroner’s office, Carlos Herrera, was quoted as saying by tabloid El Espacio.
Herrera announced the revision of the diplomas and certificates of all staff to see if others had been able to con the institution’s human resources department.
