Atletico Nacional on Sunday defeated Deportivo Cali 2-0 to win Colombia’s second soccer league of the year. With the victory, the Medellin side succeeded in winning all national trophies this year.
Earlier this year, Nacional won the first league and the cup. In total, the “paisas” have won the league 13 times.
The victory against Cali was achieved at home in the second leg of the final. The first one, played in Cali on Wednesday, ended in 0-0.
Nacional traditionally is one of the best-performing teams from Colombia. According to the IFFHS Club World Ranking, the Medellin side is the third best in Colombian soccer history after Tolima and Millonarios.
