Atletico Nacional of Medellin on Sunday, defeated Junior of Barranquilla 2-1 to remain the only team with no losses in Colombia’s premier Postobon soccer league.

Atanasio Girardot stadium in Medellin was full of excitement after Nacional took a 2-0 lead before halftime, with goals by Juan Pablo Angel and the attacking midfielder, Macnelly Torres.

The lead was too much to overcome for the one win Junior team that scored a goal in the second half but then suffered from a penalty that gave Nacional a man advantage for the remainder of the game.

The win was Nacional’s first since they won 4-0 against Alianza in week three, five games ago. Nacional did not lose a single game during their winless span; instead they tied four straight, keeping them without a loss on the season.

Nacional boasts a 3-5-0 record and is currently in fourth place with 14 points. They will take on their inter-city rivals, Independiente Medellin next Saturday.

Deportivo Pasto became co-leaders in the Postobon league after defeating Medellin 1-0, with a goal in the opening minute. Pasto and Santa Fe are tied for first place with 17 points; however, Santa Fe wins the tie break.

Other game results include a scoreless draw between Huila and Bogota Millonarios, and a 1-1 draw between Once Caldas and Alianza.

The Once Caldas team currently sits in third place with 15 points while Millonarios hold 14 points and a seventh place position, losing the tiebreak to three other 14 point teams. The number one team, Santa Fe, had a bye week.
