Atletico Nacional is close to a spot in the final of the Colombian Liga Postobon following a 3-1 win over Deportes Tolima in the first leg of the semi finals.
The match at Medellin’s Atanasio Girardot stadium had been under way for 17 minutes when Nacional took the lead through Dorlan Pabon.
Four minutes after the break, Pabon scored his second to hand Nacional an even more comfortable lead against the current Colombian vice-champions.
Tolima did pull one back through Wilmer Parra three minutes later, but failed to put further pressure on Nacional’s defense. Instead, Jairo Palomino made it 3-1 with five minutes to go.
The tie will be decided on Wednesday, when Tolima host Nacional in an attempt to overcome the deficit. The winner of this semi final then faces the winner of the other semi final between La Equidad and Millonarios.
