Antioquia gets US$50 million for development

Antioquia, the Colombian department home to Medellin, will receive a US$50 million credit from a multilateral finance institution to invest in education, health, basic sanitation, and rural and urban development.

The Institute for the Development of Antioquia, IDEA for its Spanish initials, will be responsible for choosing and executing projects, which will be carried out over the next three years, reported Portafolio.

“With this financing [IDEA] will realize investments that will improve the quality of life of the urban and rural populations of Antioquia, through projects in various social sectors,” said Enrique García, president of the Andean Development Corporation, which provided the money.
