Alleged FARC spy to remain in jail

According to Colombian law, the prosecution must officially indict a suspect within 90 days. Because Ramírez had already been awaiting her indictment for 127 days, the judge decided she had to be released, Caracol Radio reports.

Ramírez’ lawyer had demanded his defendant’s release and accused the Prosecution of stalling the case. The judge turned down the defense’s demands, but did order the Supreme Judicial Counsil to investigate if disciplinary measures are in place.
