An airplane flying from Medellin to Monteria was forced to make an emergency landing Sunday after one of the engines shut down.
According to several media, the incident happened 20 minutes after the Aires airplane had taken off from Medellin.
The pilot initially wanted to land at the airport of Caucasia, but was unable to because the plane had just been refueled and the excess of fuel could have caused a tragedy if the emergency landing went wrong.
Instead, the pilots decided to continue to their original destination Monteria where after a successful landing all 32 passengers and four crew members were able to leave the plane safely.
Authorities said they will be investigating the incident.
In 2010, a Boeing 737 of the same company crashed on the Caribbean island of San Andres killing two passengers.
