Bogota on Tuesday announced that acts for the city’s 16th Salsa in the Park Festival will include salsa giants Ruben Blades and Los Van Van.
The event, which starts on August 16 on the Plaza Bolivar, is part of Bogota’s Summer Festival, celebrating the Colombian capital’s 475th birthday.

Salsa singer Ruben Blades will be the first act, while fellow Panameñan Juan Formell and Cuban salsa orchestra los Van Van will play the following night.
Also included in the festivities are local groups Toño Barrio Latin Groove, Yoruba D.C. and Orquesta Sabor Capital, along with national acts Integracion Casanova, El Callegüeso y la Mambanegra, Orquesta D’Cache and La Republica.
