Colombia’s Foreign Ministry on Friday published instructions for Colombian nationals living abroad on how to vote in Sunday’s presidential election.
The ministry will open 948 polling stations in 56 countries around the world, for the 415,188 Colombians living abroad who are registered to vote in the national election.
Polling stations will be open between 8 AM and 4 PM local time on May 30, as in Colombia, and citizens will only be able to vote at the location where their cedula (identity card) is registered.
Voters are recommended to verify their place of registration at the Colombian Registry Office’s website.
Those taking part in the vote are reminded to take their cedula with them on the day of voting, as no other form of ID will be accepted. A photocopy of the cedula will not be accepted.
