Carlos Valderrama, a.k.a. “El Pibe” or “The Kid” is to star in a new film called “Por un Puñado de Pelos, ” or in English “For A Fistful of Hairs,” reported Radio Santa Fe on Wednesday.

More famously known for his soccer talent, Valderrama is one of a hundred football players included in FIFA’s 2004 list of greatest ever players.

The film is a comedy set in a town where the local water supply has the magical properties to make hair grow. Valderrama, with his iconic blonde hairdo, will be playing the character of the eccentric town mayor.

In an interview with Radio Santa Fe, the film’s lead actor Nicolas Vasquez of Argentina, explained that the film will see his character “left hairless by a disease and then embark upon a journey to seek the miraculous water that will make his hair grow – this will lead him to meet The Mayor, who is played by Valderrama.”

“A Fistful of Hairs” is a co-production between Argentina and Colombia, and will be in cinemas from November 7, 2013.
