Colombian striker Teofilo Gutierrez is set to move from Mexico to Brazil, as River Plate have become interested in his services.

Teofilo Gutierrez, who plays for Mexican side Cruz Azul is the subject of a $4 million offer from a holding party, who seek 50% of his services after the transfer to River Plate is complete.

The transfer could happen this week, as the players agent Ephrain Pachon will travel to Mexico to monitor the negotiations.

“Teo” confessed his desire to join River Plate, a club he has been a fan of “since childhood.”

Ramon Diaz, the manager of River Plate has spoken to Teo and noted his desire to join the club. “He wants to play for River and that is important.”

Prior to the players arrival, River Plate must release a quota of foreigners, with Ecuador’s Juan Cazares a likely departure.
