Colombians are voting for the “Greatest Colombian,” the most prominent figure from Colombia throughout its history, for a new History Channel program called, “El Gran Colombiano.”
The History Channel special will air on June 23 and features a list of renowned Colombians from different categories including, history and politics from the 19th and 20th centuries, popular arts and journalism, arts, sciences and humanities and sports.
Colombians currently have the opportunity to vote online and the two-hour special will highlight the country’s majority selection for each category.
The list of nominees was narrowed from 125 to 25 on Tuesday after 700,000 votes came in.
