Real Cartagena dropped their first points of the season, drawing 2-2 at Santa Fe in Bogota, but remain in first place in the Colombian Liga Postobon.

In an eventful match at El Campin stadium, Cartagena took the lead through Luis Iriarte in the 13th minute. Julio Gutierrez levelled things in the 36th but Oscar Castillo restored Cartagena’s advantage in minute 74.

It was not until four minutes into extra time at the hosts got a second equaliser, this time through Luis Yanez.

Santa Fe’s Ricard Villarraga was sent off in the 54th minute but Edinson Palomino of Cartagena followed eight minutes later. Moreover, Juan Carlos Henao of the visiting side was red-carded for protesting after full time and will have to serve a suspension.

Junior of Barranquilla moved into second place following a 2-0 win over Millonarios. The home side left it until late to decide the match and needed some help as Oswaldo Henriquez scored an own goal in the 82nd minute. Six minutes later, it was club icon Giovanni Hernandez who added a second.

The biggest surprise of the day occurred in Cali where America lost 0-1 to newcomers Cortulua, who as such earn their second win in a row after beating Santa Fe on the weekend. John Jairo Castillo scored the only goal of the match after 76 minutes.

Wednesday’s other results:

Chico 1-1 Pereira
Cucuta 1-0 Tolima
Quindio 0-2 Nacional
Once Caldas 2-3 La Equidad
Huila 2-2 Envigado
