Colombia signs trade agreement with Chile, and held first round of trade talks with South Korea on Monday.
The agreement with Chile relates to Colombian tomatoes and bananas exported to Chile, and Chilean avocadoes exported to Colombia. It will come into effect in 30 days, reported ChinaView.
Meanwhile Colombian trade officials are in Seoul Monday for the first round of trade talks with South Korea, reported Yonhap News. The aim is to sign a free trade agreement between the two countries.
Bilateral trade between Colombia and South Korea was worth US$1.23 billion last year. Colombia imports cars and electronic goods from the Asian nation, and exports coffee, coal and nickel. Both countries are waiting for a trade pact with the U.S. that’s currently stalled in Congress.
