The Colombian Liberal party and Party for Radical Change Tuesday announced their “idea of forming a political majority.”
Presidential candidate and Liberal Party member, Rafael Pardo, stated that the aim was to cement a long-term policy between the two parties in which they could fix common goals.
The leader of the Party for Radical Change, Germain Vargas Lleras in turn emphasized that the coalition between liberalism and radical change seeks to form a strong, separate identity to that of Alvaro Uribe’s campaigning party.
Vargas maintained that he saw “possible points that radical change may have in common with liberalism” and he considered that a united front would be a positive step in their campaign for the Presidency.
The current colombian President, Alvaro Uribe is in the process of campaigning to secure a third term in office while other Parties are competing to ensure that he does not achieve this.
