Colombian cyclist Mauricio Soler has found a new team, having signed a contract with the Spanish Caisse d’Epargne formation.
Soler, who won the Tour de France King of the Mountains classification in 2007, will most likely be helping Caisse d’Epargne leader Alejandro Valverde during mountain stages, rather than going for stage wins himself.
The 26-year-old from Boyaca has been riding for British team Barloworld in recent years. After 2007, several injuries kept the rider sidelined and Soler missed both the 2008 and 2009 Tour de France.
At Caisse d’Epargne, Soler teams up with fellow Colombian Rigoberto Uran.
