According to a survey of The Economist, Bogota is the least desirable capital city of Latin America to live in.
The report of The Economist Intelligence Unit, released on Tuesday, measured the quality of life in 140 world capitals evaluating 30 qualitative and quantitative aspects in the categories of stability, health care, culture and environment, education and infrastructure.
The survey found that Bogota has been plagued by stability problems due to “constant threats of violent crimes and domestic strikes.”
“It is not the first time that Bogota comes off badly in international surveys. This just proves that we are not on a good way,” Representative of Colombia’s Chamber, David Luna, told El Espectador.
According to the study, Vancouver is the best city in the world to live in, followed by Vienna, Melbourne and Toronto.
The least desirable city worldwide is Harare in Zimbabwe due to “the political, social and economic crisis”.
