Colombia’s peso climbed to a three-
month high as U.S. stock gains boosted investor appetite for
higher-yielding, emerging-market assets.
Colombia’s currency rose 1.2 percent to 2,276.25 per dollar
at 10:21 a.m. New York time, from 2,303.75 yesterday. Earlier
the peso touched 2,275.43, its strongest since Jan. 26.
The yield on Colombia’s 11 percent bonds due in July 2020
dropped five basis points, or 0.05 percentage point, to 8.92
percent, the lowest since January 2007, according to Colombia’s
stock exchange. The bond’s price climbed 0.372 centavos per peso
to 114.311 centavos. (Bloomberg)
