Colombian President Álvaro Uribe announced Monday that six members of
the FARC were arrested for the attack on the Villavicencio water supply
that left the capital of Meta without water for more than a week.
The bombing of the water supply a month ago was ordered by FARC leaders ‘Alfonso Cano’, ‘El Zarco’, ‘Romana’ and ‘Mono Jojoy’, the President added.
“The order of this very serious crime against the community of Villavicencio was given by the top of the FARC, that already has been linked [to the bombing] by the Prosecution and judges. The six perpetrators have been captured and are awaiting justice,” Uribe said at the end of a security meeting in the Meta capital.
Little over a week ago two alleged members of the right-wing paramilitary Anti-terrorist Revolutionary Army of Colombia (ERPAC) were arrested for the same bombing.
