Colombia’s peso climbed the most in
five months as U.S. stocks rose for a fifth day, boosting
appetite for emerging-market assets.
Colombia’s peso strengthened 2.2 percent to 2,395.13 per
dollar at 10:13 a.m. New York time, from 2,447.33 on March 13,
the biggest gain since Oct. 14. The peso led a rally among Latin
American currencies, touching 2,383.8 per dollar, its strongest
since Jan. 29.
The yield on Colombia’s benchmark 11 percent bonds due in
July 2020 slid six basis points, or 0.06 percentage point, to
9.54 percent, according to Colombia’s stock exchange. (Bloomberg)
