Cartagena‘s International Film Festival — Latin America’s oldest — will have its doors opened until March 7 to show the finest of Colombian and Latin America’s cinema. Highlight will be the festival’s India Catalina award ceremony.
The India Catalina award is endorsed by the Academy of Cinematographic Sciences and Arts, the same organization that is responsible for the annual Academy Awards. The two winners of the India Catalina — one short film and one animation film — will immediately be allowed competition for next year’s Oscars in their categories.
The contest for the award will be held from March 1 until March 5.
The remaining days of the festival, Cartagena’s cinemas will show dozens of films and documentaries from all over the Americas.
