Medellin will share the luck of the Irish by hosting St. Patrick’s Day parties March 15 through 17.
St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated around the world March 17, providing an excuse to wear green and drink green beer all day long. Though it is not a widely celebrated holiday in Colombia, the country’s second city Medellin has jumped on the band wagon and will show off its green for a couple of days. There are a handful of bars in EL Poblado and Envigado that will encourage dancing an Irish jig and drinking the day away in order to celebrate Saint Patrick.
Windsor Pub in Envigado will hold a St. Patty’s Day party on Friday, March 15 and Saturday, March 16 with live music on Saturday. They will offer food and drink specials and provide 10% off your bill if you wear green. Check out their Facebook page for more information.
Patrick’s Irish Pub In El Poblado will kick off their celebration on March 15 and will continue the party until March 17. They will offer all of your favorite Irish drinks from Guinness to Murphy’s to Jameson and will serve it up with fish and chips. They will have Irish costume contests and will also be broadcasting UFC 158 on March 16. Check out their Facebook page for more information.
