A high-ranking leader of the drug-trafficking group Los Rastrojos has been captured in the Central American country of Panama, local media reported on Wednesday.

According to Panamanian authorities, Alex Antonio Moreno Delgadillo, alias “Caballo,” was captured in the neighboring country’s Vista Hermosa sector.
Caballo, considered one of Los Rastrojos “principal” leaders, is wanted by Colombian authorities for crimes of drug trafficking, homicide and extortion. The alleged drug trafficker could be extradited to Colombia in the coming days.
The Valle del Cauca-based drug trafficking organization is believed to be locked in a deadly war against the “Los Urabeños” neo-paramilitary group in several parts of Colombia. According to reports, the two groups are currently fighting a war of control over the drug trade in the southwestern city of Cali, traditionally considered the heartland of Los Rastrojos.
