Colombian pop star Shakira on Wednesday was taken to a Barcelona hospital after experiencing a series of discomforts in what is being called a “false alarm.”
According to local media, the singer is already beginning to have serious pains, typical of the last few weeks of pregnancy. Shakira reportedly entered a hospital in Teknon, Barcelona alongside her two brothers but the pop sensation’s boyfriend, baby’s daddy, and FC Barcelona soccer star Gerard Pique was notably absent.
The emergency hospital visit is no doubt a sign that the Barranquilla-born star “is about to give birth.”
Just a few hours before the ER visit, Shakira and Pique announced that they would be hosting a “global baby shower fundraiser” in association with UNICEF to raise money for undernourished infants.
Shakira’s pregnancy has been a tabloid fixture for months and it appears that the soon-to-be-baby-boy will appear any day now to finally punctuate the months and months of obsessive fixation.
