A delicious blend of organic fruit wines, traditional Indian food and Colombian Jazz music will be offered in the second annual wine festival held in the idyllic mountains of Santa Elena, just outside Medellin.
After its popular debut last year, local artisanal winemaker, Patrick Collins, is once again opening his doors to welcome all those interested in an all-you-can eat, all-you-can-drink [until 9pm] package on Saturday, December 22.
Wine lovers will get the chance to sip on locally-made exotic fruit wines such as wild blackberry, tree tomato, gooseberry, strawberry and the experimental passion fruit and lulo.
While for those whose taste buds are tickled more by beer, Collins is also inviting visitors to try his home-brewed stout, Irish black beer — a new addition to this year’s festival.
The event also offers a taste of India. Guests will have the chance to indulge in various traditional dishes such as marinated tandoori chicken, mini paneer or chicken kebabs, ceylon pork (mild, creamy curry with coconut), kabli chana (chick pea curry) and various side dishes.
Local jazz outfit La Guanena will provide the evening entertainment while a badminton and darts tournaments will be held throughout the day.
Guests are invited to bring their own tents as free camping is provided for those wishing to stay the night.
The event begins at 2pm and costs COP 30,000 for advanced tickets or COP 35,000 for tickets on the day. The location is Vereda Perico, Santa Elena. Attendees are asked to email vinobarranquero@gmail.com for further information and directions.
