Residents of a small village just north of Medellin lynched four people suspected of killing a fellow villager Sunday.
The murder of Norberto de Jesus Bedoya sparked an outrage throughout the small village in the San Jeronimo municipality causing residents to take justice into their own hands and track down those allegedly responsible.
Local news report that Francisco Javier Suarez, alias “Mico”, allegedly killed Bedoya, whom he had had a long-standing rivalry. Police claim that Suarez arrived in the municipality of San Jeronimo on Saturday with three others and the four men found and murdered Bedoya, a local farmer.
Colonel Jose Gerardo Acevedo said that immediately after the murder, a lynch mob was formed and local residents located Suarez and his men and killed all four with “blunt objects.”
Governor Sergio Fajardo condemned the lynching, saying he was horrified.

An investigation is currently underway to determine those responsible for the multiple homicide.
