The Colombian armed forces have wrested a trove of explosives and other war materials from FARC guerrillas in a series of raids in the country’s southwestern jungles, reported newscast CM& Thursday.
The military offensives took place in the municipality of Florida, in Colombia’s troubled Cauca region.
The first raid yielded a hidden supply of explosives, which allegedly belonged to the Gabriel Galvis “Mobile Column” of the FARC. Among the spoils were 11 kilos of high explosives, black powder and four kilos of ammonium nitrate.
In a separate operation, the army found a handmade 81mm calibre mortar, also believed to have belonged to the same FARC column.
