Three members of Colombia’s army have allegedly been assassinated by six of their fellow soldiers, reported local media Friday .
According to Caracol Radio, a sergeant and two corporals were assassinated Friday morning by six of their soldier companions in a military garrison in the southwest municipality of Piamonte between the Cauca and Putumayo departments.
Authorities are currently investigating if the unit had been previously infiltrated by FARC guerrillas that operate in the region.
The bodies are being identified by a forensics team while the whereabouts of the assailants remain unknown.
