Alleged guerrillas destroyed a power station in the northeast of Colombia Tuesday, leaving approximately 100,000 people without electricity.
The bombing of the La Cabaña power station cut the power supply for residents in seven municipalities in Arauca, reported local media.
Authorities attribute the attack either to the FARC or the ELN, who both have been highly active in the oil-rich department.
According to Radio Caracol, rebel groups have attacked three power stations in Arauca since June.
A series of guerrilla attacks on electricity pylons in the southwest of Colombia have left the inhabitants of the city of Tumaco without electricity for almost two weeks.
