Colombian bombshell Sofia Vergara will lend her voice to the popular animated sitcom “Family Guy” this September.

Vergara will play the imaginary love interest of Peter Griffin, the show’s main protagonist.  The comedy series, created by Seth MacFarlane, focuses on the life of the Griffin family and their anthropomorphic pet dog Brian. MacFarlane’s quirky comedic style has generated a cult following for the show.

Vergara will also her try her voice acting talents on “The Cleveland Show,” another Fox animated series created by MacFarlane. The show is a spin-off from Family Guy and explores the lives of two dysfunctional families. Vergara’s character will be aptly named, “Aunt Sofia”.

On July 19, Vergara received her third Emmy nomination for her role as Gloria Delgado-Pritchett in the U.S. sitcom “Modern Family.” Her nomination came one day after she was named the highest-paid actress on television.

The eleventh season of Family Guy will air in the U.S. on September 30. Other famous stars to appear on the popular show include Johnny Depp, Ryan Reynolds and Elizabeth Banks.
