Colombian authorities dismantled two cocaine processing labs allegedly run by the FARC, local media reported Monday.
The two plants had produced about 10,000 pounds of cocaine each month, most likely bringing in around $550,000 for the guerrilla group, a police press spokesman said.
Officials hoped the income lost from the two processing plants would deal a financial blow to the FARC, the spokesman added.
The spokesman noted police had relied on a network of informers to find the plants in the western Valle del Cauca region of Colombia, one in the small city of Florida, and another in a rural mountain village.
