Colombian singer Juanes said Tuesday that legalization would be a giant step in the fight against drug trafficking.
In an interview with Caracol Radio, Juanes emphasized his support for drug legalization, saying while it would not be the sole solution, it would be a big help in ending violence related to organized crime.
The Colombian singer therefore welcomed that the issue was included on the agenda of the Summit of the Americas last April.
Latin American heads of state, particularly those of Colombia and Guatemala, have repeatedly demanded a discussion on the effectiveness of the U.S.-led war on drugs.
