Even though Venezuela says to have no official information about the
presence of FARC guerrillas on its territory, it vows to hand them over
to Colombia if its authorities ever find one.
“We do not have formal information on the presence of FARC guerrillas in Venezuela, but if there are we will act according to the law. They will be detained if requested. We will then inform the Colombian government and they will be extradited the same way we have in other cases,” Venezuelan Communication Minister Jessy Chacón said.
The minister said Venezuela seeks peace in Colombia and doesn’t want to interfere in its neighbor’s affairs. At the same time he “appreciates that they do not meddle with ours.”
Colombia has repeatedly accused Venezuela of harboring members of Colombian guerrilla groups ELN and FARC.
