Mi Sangre

Colombian authorities revealed that a top leader from the Urabeños, one of the country’s most prominent drug trafficking organizations, is hiding in Argentina, according to news network Radio W.

Authorities have established the general whereabouts of Henry de Jesus Lopez, alias “Mi Sangre,” one of Colombia’s most wanted drug lords.

A Medellin prosecutor has issued an arrest warrant for Mi Sangre on the charges of conspiracy, drug trafficking and weapons possession.

Colombia’s judicial police (DIJIN) Director, General Carlos Ramiro Bravo Mena asked Interpol to issue a Red Notice requesting Mi Sangre’s international arrest.

Medellin police captured Lopez’s bookkeeper Edison Gomez Molina, alias “El Contador,” Tuesday, who was responsible for handling the drug lord’s accounts, assets and other financial transactions.

Argentina’s Minister of Security Nilda Garre told Radio W during an international summit in Cartagena about growing concerns that her country has become a refuge for some of Colombia’s most dangerous criminals.

Medellin native Mi Sangre began his criminal career with drug trafficking organization the Oficina de Envigado before joining the ranks of the paramilitary umbrella organization the AUC.

After the AUC was disbanded in 2006, Mi Sangre allied with the Urabeños, one of many criminal groups made up of former mid-level paramilitary commanders, and has risen to become a prominent force in Colombia’s underworld.
