Bogota’s government secretary resigned Friday, saying he needed to “take a breather,” reported local media.
Antonio Navarro Wolf made his resignation official at a City Hall press conference, saying that his decision was made for purely “personal” reasons.
There had been speculation that his departure was down to a difference of opinion between himself and one of the assistants of Bogota’s Mayor Gustavo Petro.
However Petro said the media was misinformed about a supposed fight and that he was sad that Navarro Wolff was leaving.
The former government secretary had been in his position since January 2012, and has served as mayor of the city Pasto, governor of the department of Nariño.
