Colombian fashion designers, manufacturers and retailers are coming together for the fourth annual Bogota Fashion Week, starting Wednesday.
The three-day event is a major international platform of style and business for Colombia’s fashion industry, highlighting the latest and hottest trends while showcasing what the country has to offer.
There will be 20 runway shows featuring prominent Colombian fashion designers like Gabi Arenas, Nora Julieth Lozza, and Estrada, and17 shows by up-and-coming Colombian designers focused on making the country a leader in this year’s fall/winter fashion.
This year’s event will also include the International Footwear and Leather show and the Exhibition of Leather and Supplies.
Each day will open with shows featuring work from the Future Room project, a platform for new fashion talent that highlights the work of 88 young Colombian entrepreneurs.
In its first year, the Bogota Fashion Week attracted more than 12,000 national and 500 international buyers. It is expected that between Wednesday and Friday the Bogota Fashion Week will attract about 65,000 visitors and about 16,800 domestic and foreign buyers, generating an estimated 10,000 million Colombian pesos (about $5.5 million).
