The Inter-American Development Bank is to invest $12 million in human rights education in Colombia, announces Colombia’s education minister Wednesday.
The money will be invested in the National Plan for Education in Human Rights. The $12 million will be used to for the development of educational projects and the creation of “environments of democratic learning which improve the academic atmosphere.”
Colombian Minister of Education, Maria Fernanda Campo said that the initiative will allow public and private educational institutions to strengthen a policy establishing a culture of making human rights part of the everyday experience.
