Sofia Vergara takes a well earned break in Mexico

Colombian actress and comedian turned Hollywood star Sofia Vergara tweets from her Mexican getaway.

After a year that saw Vergara lauched as a bona fide Hollywood star, which included receiving a Golden Globe nomination for her role in American sitcom Modern Family, the Colombian bombshell took a well earned beach break in Mexico.

Vergara, along with her son Manolo, stayed at the luxury Imanta Resort in Punta Mita, west of Mexico City. They were joined by various friends during the trip, including Ingrid Casares — most famous for a brief lesbian fling with Madonna in 2008.

Refreshed and revitalized, Vergara plans to return to LA, where she and Manolo live, to continue her ascent into Latin American Hollywood royalty. According to Radio Caracol, Vergara’s next ambition is to star in a film by Spanish directing legend Pedro Almodovar. Vergara apparantly thinks she would make a good transvestite in an Almodovar outing, which often deal with themes of homosexuality. Hmm, we’d have to agree.
