Colombian authorities send Adolfo Erazo Rosero, an alleged top extortionist for Los Rastrajos neo-paramilitary group, to stand trial in the United States, Colombian media reported Wednesday.
Rosero, who had evaded capture for 15 years, was detained by special forces of the Colombian police on April 27 in Bogota as he got off a plane.
He allegedly led the Los Tios protection racket for Los Rastrajos, which is an heir to the Norte del Valle Cartel. Los Tios has about 100 members, allegedly responsible for dozens of murders in Cali, the coffee region and the departments of Valle del Cauca and Nariño.
Rosero recently had a fierce confrontation with drug-trafficker Victor Patiño Fomeque who had returned to Colombia after a seven-year prison sentence in the United States.
Rosero was extradited alongside Heder Augusto Sarria Martínez, alias ” Niño Malo,” who has 15 murders in Buenaventura attributed to him; and Francisco Javier Garcia, alias “Pancho Garra,” who in the last 16 years has become the favorite assassin of the Calle Serna brothers, Javier Antonio and Luis Enrique, better known as “Los Comba.”
