This year’s second rainy season has killed 95 people in Colombia since rains began in September, said the Red Cross Saturday.
In its weekly report, the International Committee of the Red Cross said that over the past two and a half months, more than 300,000 people have fell victim to the rains, 66 were injured and 372 homes were completely destroyed.
The rainy season has caused 475 natural emergencies including floods, mudslides, landslides and windfalls.
The Red Cross said that the rainy season has caused emergencies in 27 of Colombia’s 32 department.
The most tragic disaster took place in the city of Manizales where a landslide killed at least 48. The national government allocated $2 million to help Manizales victims.
