Shakira’s ex-boyfriend, Antonio De La Rua, asked former Miss World Colombia Daniela Ramos to marry him. The Argentine reportedly suggested that the marriage take place in December.
Although there were always rumors of a De La Rua and Shakira marriage, it did not materialize during their 11-year relationship.
Commenting on their break-up, Shakira had said on her website that her and De La Rua “view this period of separation as temporary and as a time of individual growth as we continue to be partners in our business and professional lives.”
It seemed that the Argentine lawyer’s biological clock could not wait while he “grew,” and he just had to ask for his new girlfriend’s hand in marriage.
The Bogota beauty, however, felt that she wasn’t quite ready for the matrimonial incarceration, and asked him to wait until March 2012, so that they might be able to get to know each other before taking their final vows into blissful wedlock.
