Paramilitary Group Águilas Negras (Black Eagles) sent a “last warning” to the National
University in Bogotá, declaring 33 students and their families
“military targets” and saying they have “personnel” on the university
campus.
The paramilitary group sent both e-mails and letters to deveral departments of the university, newspaper El Espectador reported Thursday.
The paramilitaries claim their “military targets” are students helping the FARC or part of youth organization Communist Youth. They also announced a curfew starting Monday, “not for students, but for the rebels. They should not be on university premises between 6PM and 6AM, because we already ordered staff to be present in this area.”
The university board will meet to decide what measures to take following the paramilitary death threats.
