A Colombian soldier who had been released from FARC captivity in 2009 was stabbed to death in Bogota Friday.
Soldier William Dominguez Castro was killed in a bar fight in the Bachue neighborhood in the northwest of the capital city.
According to newspaper El Tiempo, Dominguez Castro had been on sick leave from the army since June because he was suffering a drug addiction.
The soldier was one of four members of the security forces who were released by the country’s guerrilla group in February 2009 after mediation by then-Senator Piedad Cordoba. Dominguez Castro spent little more than two years in captivity.
