Colombia’s biggest celebration of new technology and digital culture, Campus Party, will celebrate its 2011 edition in Bogota beginning on June 27.
The seven-day event will allow 4,500 people to participate in technology, leisure and digital culture activities in the capital city’s Corferias events center, where the festival was also held in 2010.
Campus Party 2011 provides activity in 10 different areas to incorporate all technological tastes, including astronomy and space, hardware, social media, software development, free software and games, reported Caracol Radio.
Eduardo Rifenburg, spokesperson for Futura Networks, the event’s sponor, celebrated Campus Party’s 4th edition in Colombia, stating that “what it looks to do is to recognize innovations in the technology world and offer a space where the attendees can exchange ideas and, in sum, it is a bet for Colombia’s technological development.”
The event seeks to allow each participant “to live a unique experience, make friends, establish professional relationships and plan and carry out their projects in these seven days,” reported the event website.
Campus Party is an annual event that began in 1997 and unites thousands of participants in various countries through their computers over the course of a week, aiming to allow them to share experiences and participate in all sorts of technology-related activities.
