Colombian reggaeton artist J. Balvin will present a symphonic concert in Bogota on September 15, complete with dancers and special effects, reported events site vive.in.
The event, titled “J. Balvin Sinfonico,” is sponsored by newspaper El Tiempo and will take place in the Colombian capital’s Plaza Bolivar, with 40 musicians present.
Bogota residents are not the only ones who will be able to see the concert — the event will also be streamed live to the country’s other two biggest cities, Cali and Medellin, in 3D quality.
J. Balvin describes the event as “a concert that searches for tolerance between the musical genres. Symphonic music can also accompany and harmonize these urban rhythms that have so much power for young people.”
The concert will be recorded on Blu-ray DVD and edited by producer Brad Furman, who has worked with a number of reggaeton artists and rappers, including 50 Cent.
In the meantime, the Antioquian reggaeton artist, whose most recent recognition came from a publicized video of him getting a butt injection, gave a private viewing of his newest music video, “Seguire subiendo,” on June 21, in the El Tiempo offices, and presented a sample of his newest musical project.
