Four alleged FARC guerrillas from the 18th Front were killed by the army Thursday in the Nudo de Paramillo region near the border of Antioquia and Cordoba, El Espectador reports.
Officials from the Joint Chiefs Caribbean Command reported that a battle on the Cordoba side of the border in the northeast, mountainous region of Nudo de Paramillo killed a militia leader and explosives expert, alias “Linares,” and the third in command of the FARC’s “Rio Sucio” company, alias “Peña.”
A second battle in Antioquia killed two guerrillas from from the “Jeferson Carta” company of the 18th Front of the FARC.
The military seized four rifles, one grenade launcher, abundant ammunition of different calibers, and explosive material.
Commander of the Joint Chiefs of the Caribbean General Sergio Mantilla Sanmiguel said that operations in this territory will continue in attempts to capture leaders of the 18th Front that offends this region.
