Colombia will receive a $10million loan from Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) to improve public service agencies and reduce corruption, W Radio reported Saturday.
The IDB said the money will be used to strenghten the role of the Attorney General’s Office as well as training 650 staff.
“It is hoped that this project, based on the pillars of prevention and monitoring, will make a significant contribution to Colombia’s efforts to make their institutions comply with the rules and improve standards of transparency in the country,” said the IDB.
The project will provide tools to measure compliance with regulations, strengthen ethics in society and increase citizen participation in the fight against corruption.
The 20 year loan has a grace period of 4 years.
