The Council of State gave former Senator Piedad Cordoba five days to add documents missing documents from her lawsuit contesting the decision of the Inspector General’s Office to remove her from office, W Radio reported Wednesday.
Cordoba was dismissed by Inspector General Alejandro Ordoñez on the grounds that she had links to the FARC and was banned from holding office for 18 years.
The former senator requested the cooperation of the Council of State, a body of 40 magistrates which resolves matters between non-state persons and the state, in overturning her dismissal.
As soon as Cordoba submits the required documents, the Council of State will determine whether to reverse or sustain the sanction imposed by Ordoñez.
