Colombia News - Don Omar

Puerto Rican reggaeton artist Don Omar will perform Friday at the Pabellon Blanco of Plaza Mayor in Medellin , Colombian media report.

According to the Plaza Mayor website, the concert, titled “Heaven and Hell,” brings together two of the most popular beats in Medellin – reggaeton and electronica – in a stellar lineup which will include six artists from each genre.

Along with Don Omar, performers of note include Colombian artists Reiko and Jiggy Drama, Colombian electronica artist DJ Tuso, and Dutch electronica artist Paul van den Beuken. The concert will last eight hours, from 8PM until 4AM, and is a must-see for lovers of reggaeton, hip-hop, and electronica alike, reports events site PlanB.

This will be Don Omar’s second show in Medellin in under a year, after he performed last year for the opening of the Dollhouse International nightclub. The artist, past winner of such awards as Latin Pop Album of the Year, draws from a number of genres, including salsa, merengue, bachata, and bolero, according to his official website. His previous albums have been well-received, and his 2006 album “King of Kings” received a Latin Grammy nomination for Best Urban Music Album.

Tickets and further information are available online.
